2026 meetings - exploring alignment and co-investments
Salty deep dives:
Island Meetings
The Island Meetings are the flagship convening platform of the Viability Fund for Cities — invitation-based strategic gatherings in the Stockholm archipelago that bring together funders, financial institutions, city leaders, industry, and global partners to accelerate urban climate action.
Unlike traditional conferences, the meetings are working sessions focused on aligning funding programs, exploring co-financing opportunities, and shaping market-driven pathways for system innovation in cities.
Participants collaborate around key themes such as system demonstrators, new financing instruments like EnergyNet, and aggregated demand as a lever for scaling solutions.
By connecting global capital with local implementation, the Island Meetings help build coalitions, develop joint initiatives, and translate climate ambition into practical investment and deployment. They are a core mechanism through which the Viability Fund for Cities advances its mission to mobilize capital and accelerate the transition to climate-neutral cities worldwide.
